Toyota Australia has strengthened its outlook for 2026, increasing its annual sales forecast on the back of strong customer demand.
Toyota has recorded 16,574 deliveries in March, bringing year-to-date deliveries to more than 44,000 vehicles.
Standout performers in March have included bZ4X, Camry, Corolla Cross, HiAce and LandCruiser 300. These results highlight the breadth of Toyota's line-up and the trust customers continue to place in the Toyota brand.
The bZ4X, which recorded 1,041 sales in 2025, is now forecast to achieve more than 5,000 sales in 2026. This result is supported by the introduction of the upgraded bZ4X in late 2025, new bZ4X Touring variant – expected to arrive in Q2, and strong customer interest in Toyota's expanding electrified range.
Customer demand remains high across the range – especially for LandCruiser 300, HiLux, LandCruiser Prado and RAV4 – with national wait times for most models sitting between three and six months.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations, John Pappas, said the company is entering the second quarter with strong momentum.
“Earlier this year, we forecast exceeding 200,000 sales in 2026. With the demand we are seeing and the increased supply coming, we now expect to exceed 210,000 sales – a milestone no other automotive brand has achieved in Australia.
“In the first three months of the year, Toyota has seen an increase in demand for electrified vehicles – including both battery-electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles. As a pioneer and leader in hybrid technology, Toyota continues to refine its hybrid technology to achieve even lower emissions and ever-better fuel efficiency. Today, hybrid vehicles are affordable, accessible and convenient for customers across the Toyota range.
“With exciting new model updates, new electrified vehicles and strong customer demand, 2026 is shaping as an exciting year for Toyota Australia.”
